Dr. Lou Stylos

Dr. Lou Stylos has been committed to a path of excellence for his patients since he founded the practice in 1987. Dr. Lou, as he is known to his patients, has created a unique environment that promotes the dental health, comfort, and general well-being of each client. Dr. Stylos is a member of the following organizations:

Clinically, Dr. Stylos places a great emphasis on the impact of dental hygiene on a patient’s immune system and their health as a whole. He continues to strive for excellence and provide care that exceeds the expectations of every individual. One way he achieves this is by adding services like non-surgical TMJ disorder treatment, oral appliance therapy, sleep apnea therapy, sedation dentistry, and an array of additional specializations to our offerings.  

Therése G. RDH

Therése G. is a registered dental hygienist with over 20 years of experience. She prides herself on taking care of patients who are fearful of dentistry and making them feel comfortable. She has been with us for many years and is a dedicated team member who continues to display our values every day. When she is not taking care of patients, she likes to read, spend time at the coast, kayak, and spend as much time as she can with her husband, three grown children, and their families.  

Lisa S.

Lisa calls herself the Team Leader of Smiles by Stylos. She leads by example as she directs the entire team, bringing sunshine and a positive attitude with her every day. Lisa has been a dental hygienist for over 35 years, and she joined her husband—Dr. Louis Stylos—in 1996 to come treat patients with him as a dynamic husband-and-wife team. Together, they raise their son, Peter, who is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire and who is working his way up in the sports entertainment industry. Lisa has been involved with many organizations (like the Kiwanis Club of Lowell). In addition, she:

• Is a member of the Standing Room Only players
• Has received the Thomas Kelakos Community Spirit Award
• Taught Sunday school for over 10 years
• Has raised over $50,000 and counting in support of the Cancer Foundations for Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Lowell General Hospital, Got Sneakers, and the Pan Mass Foundation
• Holds a certificate as a makeup artist with Senegence Skincare  

Lisa has had multiple battles with breast cancer, and she is still bravely fighting that battle today.

When she is not in the office, she loves to travel, cook, and entertain friends and family. She considers her happy place to be the beach at Drakes Island in Maine, where she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.  

Adele

Adele Johnson is our dedicated Sleep Solutions Ambassador at Smiles by Stylos. She is originally from Somerville, but she and her husband settled in Dracut, where they raised their family before moving to Methuen, where she now resides. Adele has been married to her high school sweetheart, Gordon, for 57 years. The mother of four adult children and grandmother to four grandchildren, she loves traveling with her husband—including to Aruba and the Bahamas, which she considers her favorite destinations. She attends New England Bible Church, where she is also a bible study teacher for adult women.  

Adele has over 30 years of experience as an executive assistant. After retiring from the North Andover Town Manager’s office in 2015, she remained active at the North Andover Senior Center and continued to help with fundraising events there. She joined our office in 2020 to help with paperwork and office organization during the COVID-19 pandemic.  

Since September 2020, she has taken on the role as our Sleep Solutions Ambassador. Adele works part-time in the office and remotely during the week. She makes herself available to work with patients and walks them through the steps of registration, appointments, sleep tests, and insurance. She works closely with Dr. Stylos and Dr. Carolyn Schweitzer, meeting their sleep apnea patients and assisting with their treatment.  

On top of it all, Adele is also a registered notary public and can serve our patients with notarizing legal documents. If you have a need for this service, just call our office and make an appointment with Adele.  

Lisa Leavitt, LDA

Lisa Leavitt, LDA, has been with the Smiles by Stylos team for over 20 years. As our lead dental assistant, she finds her true happiness and joy in serving people, which is what makes dentistry such a passion for her. During her time in our office, she has improved thousands of lives with her upbeat, caring, and enthusiastic personality. Her keen and talented eye for dental esthetics has been an invaluable resource in creating patient smiles that light up their inner beauty as well as the room.  

When not taking care of patients, Lisa enjoys exploring new beaches, whether they be near home or far away. Her newest personal passion is traveling, especially when she can share these experiences with her family and friends. Besides the ocean, she also likes exploring nature and being outside as much as possible in her spare time. She is very fond of telling anyone who will listen that she is exceptionally fond of furry friends, too, as she has a passion for animals, especially dogs.  

Once you meet Lisa, you will know why—and, more importantly, feel—the same spark and enjoyment Lisa has had since starting her Dental Assistant career.  

Joyce

Joyce has been with us for many years now as an integral part of our dental family. She worked full time at Raytheon while raising two beautiful daughters, including our very own Lisa L. After retiring, Joyce was always helping her family and continues to do so today. When she is not maintaining the office, you can catch her attending to the team’s uniforms and helping with our “Got Sneakers” fundraiser by collecting and organizing materials to send out. Joyce has a generous spirit and a heart of gold, which is seen and appreciated by our team members and patients alike. Her pride and joy are her two beautiful grown children and her grandchildren, but she also enjoys spending time with her cat, Timmy, as well as her grand-puppies.
